My Hero Academia is a manga by KōheiHorikoshi that’s been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2014. It tells the story of IzukuMidoriya, a boy born without superpowers (called “Quirks”) in a world where having powers is the norm and superheroes exist.
Midoriya doesn’t have a Quirk but after encountering his hero All Might he manages to catch the legendary hero’s attention. With Midoriya now attending U.A. High School – the school that turns kids with good grades and great Quirks into true heroes – his path to become a superhero begins.
The My Hero Academia manga has been adapted into an anime series which has been incredibly popular in Japan and around the world. The anime currently airs on Cartoon Network as part of their Toonami programming block, simulcasted with a new episode available to watch on Saturdays at 4:00 AM EST.

Growing up watching fantastic stories such as Dragon Ball, One Punch Man and Bleach I always wondered what it would be like if we had actual heroes crime rather than just seeing glimpses of heroes in the news.
My Hero Academia has done an amazing job portraying what it would be like if real life people suddenly developed superpowers and became superheroes overnight! The ability to fly, fire beams from your hands or become invisible are all things that many of us dream about but after seeing this series you realize that even having one superpower can change someone’s life forever.
One power I always wanted was the ability to breathe fire which is exactly why I’m so impressed by “Boku No Hero Academia” (aka “My Hero”). What other anime do you know where part of the main character’s Quirk (basically their superpower) gives them the ability to breathe fire? Exactly… there isn’t any, making this show even more unique.
